A few weeks ago, I picked up a copy of Nicholas Sparks' The Last Song at the bookstore. Unsure if I wanted to buy it or not, I didn't purchase it just yet. I'm not exactly a huge Sparks fan though I have read more than a couple books of his, so I checked out the reviews. They were good enough for me, so the next time I went to the bookstore, I bought it right away. I decided to give it to my mom for Mother's Day, she being a huge fan of the author. After reading it, I didn't know why I never bought it the first time I saw it anyway. I loved it! The characters pulled me into the story and I never wanted it to end. Each line in the story tugged at my heart strings. It is about a girl named Ronnie who rebels against anything that her parents tell her to do. She blames her father for her parents divorce, and insists that she will never play the piano for him. One day, when walking on the beach, she meets a boy named Will. Over time she grows a relationship, with not only Will, but with her father, too. It is a story of love, family, and friendship, that leaves you wondering if she will play one last song for her father. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic, sad stories. Though this book made me laugh out loud for some time, I can honestly say I have never cried so much reading a book. All in all, I'd give it a solid 4. :)
